works in watercolor, and enjoys Pleinair painting.
For me, painting watercolors and plein air is a tranquil endeavor. Unlike photography, where I am acutely aware of everything happening around me, painting allows me to concentrate solely on the relationships between the objects in my scene.
It becomes a study of the harmony of shapes and colors. As I feel the air swirl around me, carrying the fragrance of sea salt, I know this is where I want to be—alone with my canvas and paints on this beautiful day in coastal North Carolina.
